We worked with Rodarte Construction on these City of Auburn street improvements. Previously, the road shoulder next to the elementary school was comprised of crushed rock and put students too close to vehicle traffic on the street. Our primary objective was to create a new, safer buffer zone between the road and foot traffic at the school.
Once the crushed rock shoulder was removed, updates and improvements were made to the storm drain system, then the new curb and gutter were poured. When the curb and gutter were set, we brought in 34 yards of top soil and hand installed 3,000 square feet of sod in the space.
The new shoulder/curb area brought multiple benefits to the neighborhood: aesthetic improvements to the street, better storm runoff control, and a safer zone for both the kids and vehicle traffic.
